Snapshot #7 - Spiderboy *Cambodia Special*
I met Spiderboy, really named Ting, outside of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. He and two other kindergarten-aged girls where out targeting tourists with over-priced postcards. It is a gross understatement to say that these kids were persistent in their pursuit to separate me from my money. I met their teary-eyed, whiny pleas of “you buy post-cards, sir” by asking if they could say the days of the week. I think they secretly loved the change of topic as they played along with me in reciting “Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Sunday.” I did as much as I could in way of helping them put the days in the right order, but they dashed off in the blink of an eye as they saw a police motorcycle turn the corner. After a while, they came back to continue their panhandling/unrequested English lesson.
Snapshot # 6 - Little Girl Waterside, and…
I took this picture in 2006 on an outing we made outside of Bangkok. It was at a fish farm/roadside eatery/Buddhist temple.
Also, I’m headed to Cambodia (again) with a group of 9 other Thai Christians tomorrow at 5 am. Dalissa’s going to stay here and hold down to fort, safe and sound in Bangkok for the five days we’ll be gone. This means no photos for a few days, but a lot of really good ones when I get back. We’ll be traveling first to Siem Reap - which literally translates to ‘Defeat of Siam‘ (Thailand) - to see Angkor Wat and then head down to Phnom Pehn to visit they Nathan and Cheryl Wheeler and Andrew and Natalie Hayes.
Juu, our new sister in Christ
Juu, one of our English students, was baptized into Christ on 2 December 2007.
Snapshot #5 - Apartment View
We recently moved into an apartment in Bangkok. This is our view.
Snapshot #4 - Moblie Broom/Brush Shop

I see this man, all the time, riding/pushing his broom-laden bike up and down the same soi (side street) as Somprasong 4, most of the time honking a small toy bicycle horn. How you are able to attach so much merchandise to a bicycle, I’m still not quite sure.
Snapshot #3 - Picture Perfect Thailand

There’s not much story behind this picture. Its just a really beautiful snap taken on a camping trip to Khao Kho we took with some of the Christians at Somprasong 4.
Sports Day at Soi 4
I’ve got a video to share with you all. This weekend we were visited by a group of young people from Singapore. We coordinated this year’s Sports Day at Somprasong 4 to coincide with their trip. It’s call “Sports Day,” but it’s really a “Get Really Messy Game Day.” I’ll try and explain what the games were, but I’m still not sure of all the rules. The first was a relay race where you had to keep a bicycle wheel rolling, and if you let it drop, you were pelted with water balloons. The second was a blind obstacle course where you had to find and pop balloons filled with powder, guided by your group. If you touched one of the many water jugs, you were pelted with water balloons. In the third game you had to find a numbered card inside a collapsed tent that was filled with a slimy water/soap mixture (I think) before the other teams. This was by far the messiest. And the guy dressed up as a crazy soldier, that’s P.Duey. He wasn’t dressed like that for any particular reason, other than he is P.Duey.

A Remarkably Peculiar Day
*Thanks to my copy editor/mom for helping correct my progressively decaying English grammar. In my defense, I did write this post around midnight the same day this all happened. Here it is in updated form:
Today has been a rather exceptionally bizarre (insert any other synonym for “strange” you can think of) day. As I start to tell you about it, I’m not really sure how much detail I’ll divulge. I think the gist will suffice.
Our day started at 2 a.m. when we left for the Thai/Cambodia border. We are having some slight visa complications. We were issued a three-month visa by the Thai Consulate in

Snapshot #2 - Thai Cub Scout Leader
I just passed this guy while coming back from our Thai Language School one day and couldn’t resist asking him for a picture. I think it was the feather in his hat that pushed me over the edge. I didn’t get to ask him his name; he seemed in a hurry.
Here’s some reading on the Cub Scouts, Boys Scouts and Girl Scouts in Thailand.
Snapshot #1 - Ad Installation
I’ve been wanting to do this for a while; that is, start a daily photo section on this site. One thing has been keeping from starting it up, a functioning camera. Now that that has been remedied, I hope to keep this up as long as the photos stay interesting.
This first one seems fitting enough. It is an advertising installation I saw the day I bought the camera. This photo was taken from the 2nd tier of the BTS Skytrain in Bangkok just after leaving the camera shop.
